Series of customer service training courses for tourism and hospitality businesses
Tourism Northern Ireland and Belfast Metropolitan College have created an accredited one‑day course to help tourism workers improve their customer service skills.
The course includes:
- what great customer service looks like in tourism and hospitality
- understanding and identifying customer needs
- effective communication, questioning and listening skills
- creating a positive professional image and first impressions
- handling customer complaints confidently and positively
Each course also includes a guided tour of the host venue, allowing participants to experience best practice in a live visitor environment and apply learning in context.
To be eligible, participants must:
- be trading or self-employed/freelance, or
- own or work within a business with fewer than 250 employees
This training is supported through a funded programme that will cover up to 90% of the course cost. Eligibility is confirmed through the completion of required paperwork, managed by Belfast Metropolitan College.

- Crumlin Road Gaol, Belfast – Monday 2 March 2026, 9am to 5pm
- Guildhall, Derry~Londonderry – Monday 9 March 2026, 9am to 5pm
- Titanic Hotel/Titanic Belfast - Monday 9 March 2026, 9am to 5pm
- Titanic Hotel/Titanic Belfast - Monday 16 March 2026, 9am to 5pm
- Guildhall, Derry~Londonderry - Thursday 26 March 2026, 9am to 5pm
Places are limited to 15 participants per course and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis (subject to eligibility and funding approval).
