New Businessline helpline provides free trading standards advice to help businesses meet trading standards regulations

A new Trading Standards Service Businessline helpline has been launched to help businesses understand and comply with trading standards regulations.

The free service provides professional, practical advice on consumer protection law, helping businesses reduce the risk of non‑compliance. It is designed to be easy to access, particularly for small and medium‑sized businesses without in‑house legal or compliance expertise.

Advice is available on key regulatory areas, including:

the description of goods and services
pricing rules
online selling rules
weights and measures regulations
business obligations when selling to consumers

How to access Businessline

The service can be accessed by:

calling 0300 077 0323, Monday to Thursday 9am to 5pm and Friday 9am to 4pm
emailing tssbusinessline@economy-ni.gov.uk
