Support for women researchers with WeVenture
Support for women researchers to explore and grow the commercial potential of their work
Women researchers can now apply for WeVenture programmes designed to help them develop ideas, build confidence and explore commercial opportunities. The programmes are part of the Shared Island Enterprise Scheme, delivered through the Alinea Framework by InterTradeIreland in partnership with Invest Northern Ireland and Enterprise Ireland.
WeVenture: Capability Building programme
WeVenture: Capability Building is a flexible series of masterclasses that strengthen skills, confidence, entrepreneurial mindset and networks. It is delivered across three themed series:
- ideas and opportunities - join the waitlist now
- resources - applications open June 2026
- into action - applications open September 2026
Places are offered on a first-come, first-served basis. There is no fixed order in which the series must be completed.
WeVenture: Ideation programme
WeVenture: Ideation is for women researchers who are beginning to explore entrepreneurship. The programme offers structured workshops and mentoring to help participants shape early-stage ideas and identify their potential.

WeVenture: Pre-Commercialisation programme
WeVenture: Pre-Commercialisation supports women researchers and early-stage teams with a clearer idea for commercial development. The programme offers workshops, expert mentorship and peer learning to help participants refine their proposition and plan next steps.
Applications close on Thursday 9 July 2026.
