Help shape a new standard for built environment digitalisation

New standard for SMEs in the built environment sector

BSI, working with Innovate UK's BridgeAI programme, is developing a new standard to help small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in the construction and built environment sector use artificial intelligence (AI) more effectively.

The draft standard, PAS 1958 – Built environment: Data and information standards landscape, aims to:

• simplify the many data and information standards that already exist
• support better data management and decision-making

UK SMEs and professionals responsible for data or information management across construction and asset life cycles are invited to review the draft standard and provide feedback as part of a public consultation.

The consultation closed for responses on Friday 10 October 2025.
