Free training in leadership, innovation, digital transformation and sustainability

Applications are now open for the Leading Change and Transition series from the William J Clinton Leadership Institute at Queen's University Belfast.

The series will run as part of a new cross-border initiative PEACEPLUS INNOVATE+, supporting small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs) across Northern Ireland and the border counties to strengthen competitiveness, improve sustainability and plan for the future.

What's included: Leading Change and Transition series

The series features three practical programmes, each delivered over six expert-led training days. The programmes include:

  • Leading People and Productivity - helping you build high-performance teams
  • Digital Innovation and AI for Leaders - helping you embrace technology without the hype
  • Business Sustainability Essentials - helping you integrate green practices in business

Businesses can join the full three-programme series or select individual courses that best meet their needs.

Eligibility

The Leading Change and Transition series is open to any SME between five and 249 employees based anywhere in Northern Ireland or the six border counties of Donegal, Sligo, Leitrim, Cavan, Monaghan and Louth. Business owners, senior leaders and managers are all welcome.

What to expect

Working with Catalyst (PEACEPLUS INNOVATE+ recruitment partner), you will start with a free business innovation audit to check eligibility and secure your funded place. If successful, your business will receive a bespoke innovation management plan, with the opportunity to benefit from tailored training, student interns and placements, innovation cluster membership and digital transformation support.

Two in-person training cohorts will be delivered this spring, limited to 25 places each:

  • Cohort 1: Queen's Business School, Belfast - starts 17 February 2026 (register by 20 January)
  • Cohort 2: Canal Court Hotel, Newry - starts 31 March 2026 (register by 10 March)
